Work with me

We are hiring new teachers for 2025!

We’re looking for new teachers for the following 2 classes. If you are a passionate dancer and/or dance teacher and enjoy helping others grow, we’d love to hear from you!

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Rate & Perks: While we can currently offer only one class per day with our timetable, we provide a competitive pay rate ($60–90 per class) and perks for the right candidate. These include a complimentary pass to attend one of our classes each week, which you can use yourself or transfer to your family and friends.
  • Supportive Resources : Lesson plans are provided for beginner and upper beginner ballet classes, thoughtfully designed for adult dancers. You’re welcome to adapt them to suit your students’ levels and needs or add your creative touches.
  • Training & Mentorship : We’re committed to helping you feel confident and supported in this role. If desired, you can start by attending the class as a student or assistant while I teach, then gradually take on more responsibility at your own pace.

Qualities We’re Looking For (but are not limited to):

  • Experience in ballet training up to intermediate level or higher, with solid knowledge of classical ballet technique.
  • A passion for teaching and a willingness to adapt methods to suit adult learners.
  • While prior experience teaching adults is a bonus, it’s not a requirement—we are happy to support the professional growth of new teachers.

Whether you are a teacher with a wealth of experience or someone passionate about developing your teaching skills, I believe this could be a fantastic opportunity for you.

If you are interested, have questions, or would like to know more details, please email Mari at hi@mariballetclass.com.

Adult Ballet Beginner

Time & Day: Saturday from 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Venue: TAPAC (The Auckland Performing Arts Centre), Western Spring

Since our current Saturday beginner class is full and has a waitlist, we’re adding another one! We’ll be offering an Absolute Beginner Course in Term 1, 2025, running for 10 weeks to welcome new students. After that, this class will transition into a beginner-level class starting in Term 2 (while the current beginner class will move to an upper-beginner level).

I’ll be teaching the Absolute Beginner Course in Term 1, and I’d love for you to join as an assistant! You’ll still receive your full pay during this time. Then, starting in Term 2, I’d like you to take over teaching the class. I’ll provide the lesson plans, but you’re welcome to modify them or add your own creative touches!

Adult Ballet Upper Beginner

Time & Day: Monday from 6:10pm – 7:10pm
Venue: Wellesley Studios, Auckland CBD

Some of our upper-beginner students are eager to dance more than twice a week, so we’re adding another class! Lesson plans will be provided, saving you time on preparation and letting you focus on teaching. From my personal experience, this is such a fun and rewarding level to teach. The students already have a grasp of the basics and are highly motivated to improve. Feel free to reach out to me for more details—I’d love to hear from you!

We’re also looking for teachers to take one-off classes or workshops!

Guest Teacher (Adult Ballet Intermediate/Advanced)

Time & Day: Friday from 10:00am – 11:30am
Venue:
Auckland Subud Hall, Point Chevalier

We are seeking experienced and passionate ballet teachers to guest teach our Friday morning Adult Ballet (Intermediate/Advanced) class. This open class is designed for dedicated dancers and dance teachers who are motivated to maintain, refine, and enhance their skills and artistry through a variety of exercises. With a non-competitive and welcoming atmosphere, the class allows dancers to train at their own pace while enjoying a supportive community.

We’re looking to invite guest teachers to lead this class once or twice a month, bringing their unique teaching styles and fresh inspiration to enrich the experience for our dancers!

Guest Teacher (School Holiday Classes/Workshops)

We are also looking for talented ballet teachers to lead classes and workshops during our school holiday programs. These sessions are designed to keep our dancers motivated and engaged outside of term time, offering them the chance to train with different instructors or explore specialized training. If you’re interested in contributing your expertise to our holiday programs, we’d love to hear from you!

Cover Teacher

I would also appreciate it if you allow me to put you on our contact list in case I am unable to teach and need a substitute teacher to cover our classes.
